Executive Vice President, Operations & Technology – Cypress Semiconductor
Dana Nazarian was named executive vice president of Operations & Technology for Cypress Semiconductor in August 2016. He was the executive vice president for the Memory and Imaging Division during 2009-2016. Nazarian is a career Cypress employee. He joined Cypress in 1988 as a product engineer and was later promoted to fab process engineering manager, responsible for half of Cypress’s Fab2 facility in Round Rock, Texas. In 1994, Nazarian became yield manager for Fab 2—a position he held for three years. From 1997-2001, Nazarian was director of yield and technology transfer for Cypress until shifting roles to direct product engineering for the Micropower SRAM Business Unit in 2001. In 2005, he was named senior director of the Synchronous SRAM Business Unit, and was later promoted to vice president in 2008. Nazarian graduated from Renesselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Founder and CEO – BridgeSTOR
John Matze is currently founder and CEO of BridgeSTOR, LLC, an Advanced Data Reduction company that is innovating Application Optimized Storage appliances and Bridges to cost-effective cloud storage. Mr. Matze was most recently Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Exar Corporation which he joined through the acquisition of HiFN. HiFN had acquired Saifu Software where Mr. Matze was founder and CEO. Mr. Matze, recognized by CRN Magazine as a Top 25 Innovator in storage, is also one of the original authors of the iSCSI protocol. He has over 15 years of storage software experience including: vice president & CTO, Overland Storage; director of software, Veritas Software; and principal architect, STAC. Mr. Matze has also been the creator of many successful products including: Overland Storage REO products, Okapi ipXcelerator, STAC Replica for NetWare and APC PowerChute UPS Monitoring Software.
Co-Founder and VP of Engineering – Striiv
Mark has been at the center of the Silicon Valley business and technology world for years working for companies like Dell, Cypress Semiconductor, Cisco Systems, and Sun Microsystems. Mark was directly responsible for shipping five systems for the communications and computation markets that contributed over $1 billion in revenue. As a member of the Cypress Executive team, Mark led technology development across lines of business and two Cypress acquisitions in the image sensor space. At Cisco, he pioneered the development and use of ternary content-addressable memories (TCAMs) in communications systems, and developed the world’s first Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) network interface controller (NIC) and multichannel GbE switch. Mark holds both a B.S. and M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
President and CEO – AgigA Tech
Mr. Sartore was executive vice president and on Simtek’s board of directors before he became President of AgigA Tech, a subsidiary of Simtek. In September 2008, Simtek was acquired by Cypress Semiconductor. Mr. Sartore spearheaded Simtek’s new product initiatives bringing innovative ways to apply Simtek technology to new and larger markets. He has more than 40 years experience in the computer and semiconductor fields, most recently serving as a Vice President for Cypress Semiconductor. Mr. Sartore was also the Founder, CEO and President of Anchor Chips, an early market leader in USB controllers, which was acquired by Cypress Semiconductor in 1999. Prior to that, he co-founded Cheetah International, where his product designs received worldwide acclaim for ingenuity and technological advancement. Mr. Sartore also served engineering leadership and product definition roles at AMCC, Inmos, and Texas Instruments. He currently holds 34 U.S. patents and obtained a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.
Chief Legal Officer, Corporate Secretary and Human Resources – Cypress Semiconductor
Pamela Tondreau joined Cypress in 2014, serving as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, and was named Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary in September 2016. Prior to joining Cypress, Tondreau spent 13 years at Hewlett-Packard Company in various roles, including Chief Intellectual Property Counsel and Deputy General Counsel to the CTO, HP Labs, HP Networking, IP Licensing, Strategic Initiatives and Global Alliances. In addition, she supported the Chief Marketing Officer, the Chief Information Officer and the EVP of Personal Systems, as well as serving as Corporate Secretary to the Technology Committee of the Board of Directors. Prior to Hewlett-Packard, Tondreau was an associate at Thelen, Marrin, Johnson & Bridges, serving as both a litigation and corporate attorney. Tondreau holds a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and a JD from McGeorge School of Law.
Executive Vice President, Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer – Cypress Semiconductor
Thad Trent has been executive vice president and chief financial officer at Cypress since June 2014. Trent oversaw Cypress’s merger with Spansion, which was finalized in March 2015, establishing the company as an embedded systems leader. He has more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry leading spinoffs, acquisitions, divestitures and capital market transactions. Previously he held finance leadership roles at publicly traded companies Wind River Systems and Wyle Electronics, as well as two technology startups. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Finance at San Diego State University. Trent joined Cypress in 2005 and had been vice president of finance since 2010. Prior to serving as CFO, he led the strategic planning functions for Cypress’s business units and worldwide operations and he managed the financial reporting, accounting, and planning and analysis functions. Trent is a director on the boards of Cypress subsidiaries AgigA Tech and Deca Technologies.
